I chose people to have conversations about emotional exchange in relationships, focusing on patterns in their intimate relationships, and the strain of expectations and obligations. These conversations were filmed while we manipulated a piece of wire from each end. Each conversation had different rules about when or how to exchange the wire that was decided by the subject. The conversations and manipulation of wire ended when we let them. This piece was installed as a four-channel projection onto the wire pieces hanging on a wall with vinyl lettering phrases that hinted at each conversation topic as well as my relationship with each subject.
